Headwaters North is kicking off a bi-annual series to engage and motivate regional business owners. The first in the series will feature Upper Peninsula business owner, Bob Jacquart of Jacquart Fabric Products in Ironwood, Michigan. The event will take place on September 25 at Lake Superior State University in the Lake Superior room of the student center beginning at 5:00 p.m. A second event will follow in Newberry on September 26. Meals will be provided at both events, so registration is required.
This event is being provided free of charge to Michigan Small Businesses. All others are welcome to attend but will require a registration charge.
Registration is requested here.
Jacquart’s discussion will center around the importance of networking with other business owners. CEOs learn best from each other. CEO roundtables are one way owners can share best business practices and talk through business challenges. These roundtables create opportunities for CEOs to strengthen their decision-making processes, bolster communication skills, and build business relationships.
In addition to CEO roundtables, the discussion will outline opportunities in the use of getting the right talent in your business. Before he was ready for full-time talent, Jacquart used Fractional CFO and COO roles in his own business to grow at a pace comfortable to the operation. It provides businesses with access to chief financial officers and chief operating officers without the full-time position, hours, benefits, and salary associated with the roles.
As Headwaters North SmartZone becomes a fully functioning organization, we plan to incorporate networking events to bring businesses together to learn from not only interesting speakers, but each other.
About Bob Jacquart
Bob Jacquart attended Michigan Technological University and joined his father’s business at the age of 19. In 1983, he purchased Jacquart Manufacturing from his father and renamed it to Jacquart Fabric Products. At that time, it employed eight people, but today employs 95. Jacquart Fabric Products is now under the direction of his daughter and CEO, Gina, in an 80,000 square foot facility. His ever-changing role as the Chairman and mentor of JFP presents new challenges each day. Jacquart always seeks ways to feed his entrepreneurial spirit.
