Date: August 19 from noon to 2 p.m.
The Sault Ste. Marie Economic Development Corporation just announced the activation of Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) Zone 16 Site #1 at the Industrial Incubator, 1301 West Easterday Avenue, as authorized by the Foreign Trade Zones Board. This significant development marks a pivotal moment in our commitment to fostering international trade and economic growth.
The establishment of this Foreign Trade Zone offers a multitude of benefits for businesses engaging in global commerce. Companies operating within the zone will
enjoy streamlined customs procedures, duty exemptions, and reduced logistical costs, thereby enhancing their competitiveness in the global marketplace. Moreover, the FTZ will serve as a magnet for foreign investment, driving job creation and economic prosperity in the region.
To build an understanding of the FTZ and its benefits to our region, we are hosting a presentation led by Scott Taylor, an FTZ Attorney with Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg, P.A. at the City of Sault Ste Marie EDC at 2345 Meridian Street, Sault Ste. Marie, MI 49783. The event will take place on August 19 from noon to 2 p.m. Lunch will be provided, but registration will be required.
This event is being provided free of charge to Michigan Small Businesses. All others are welcome to attend but will require a registration charge.
