Brian Chapman has been serving in local government since 2007 and is the current City Manager for the City of Sault Ste. Marie. Prior to coming to the Soo, he was the City Manager for the City of Vassar; organization development specialist for the City of Oshkosh, WI; management assistant for the City of Oshkosh, WI; and assistant to the City Manager in Negaunee, MI.
Fred Smith

Fred L. Smith, CEO of Smith & Company Real Estate holds several real estate designations including CCIM, CRS, and CRB. He is very active in all phases of Commercial and Residential Real Estate. Fred has served as President or Chairman of such organizations as Rotary, the Downtown Development Authority, the Board of Realtors, and the Financial Chairman of the Board of Directors of Old Mission Bank.
Angie McArthur
Chair, School District Representative, LDFA Board of Directors
Angie McArthur is the Superintendent of the Eastern Upper Peninsula Intermediate School District. She has been in this position since January 2020. Prior to coming to the EUPISD, Angie served as the Superintendent/K12 Principal of Engadine Consolidated Schools for ten years. She worked in school finance for sixteen years prior to the superintendency. In 2016, Angie completed an Educational Specialist degree from University of Michigan-Flint.
Jeff Hagan
At-Large Member, LDFA Board of Directors
Jeff is the CEO of the Eastern UP Regional Planning and Development Commission, a position he has held since 2007. He leads up the regions EDA Economic Development District planning program and has been successful in securing millions of dollars in project funding for economic development projects through the EDA during his tenure at EUP.
