Headwaters North, in collaboration with MTEC SmartZone of Houghton, holds its first virtual SmartStart class for local Sault Ste Marie entrepreneurs. Participants are working through a 6-week course that walks them through their business idea from napkin concept to formally starting a company.
SmartStart is an amazing resource for anyone who has an idea but is not sure how to get started. Each week, entrepreneurs meet with their mentor - Jason Mack - to walk through concepts, their pitch deck, and creating a business plan to grow and develop. Attendees develop essential entrepreneurial skills while building a roadmap that details your business opportunity. After completing the program, the hope is that they walk away with a solid understanding of what it takes to create a sustainable business.
One of the biggest takeaways from attending the class is the relationships that develop with other entrepreneurs.
